About Emili
Howdy! My name is Emili Blackwell, my story started with a best friend and a sister (as all great stories do). When both my best friend and sister got pregnant in the same summer, I could not have been more excited, I got to research all about birth and postpartum and I was in love. It wasn't until I got to be a part of my best friend's natural birth that I was truly hooked though. I didn't know a human could look so beautiful and I have never been so inspired in my life. Since that fateful day, I have made it my mission to provide the support I could give her and her husband to other expecting parents (with just a splash more training). I am currently pursuing my master's in Professional Counseling and I have a bachelor's in Psychology. I strive to combine my background in mental health with my doula training to provide a holistic experience that gives space for what you are experiencing, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.

My Holistic Approach
I believe everything is connected! Mind, body, and soul. In such, I think it is important that I can help prepare you as best as I can before and during your birth by arming you with evidence-based research and providing support during labor. The more informed you feel about your birth plan, the less stressed you are during labor, and you can focus on meeting your baby and not making uninformed decisions.
I always lean towards natural medicine first, but more than anything this birth is about you, not me - so I will help you stay informed about what each decision you make can mean for you and your baby.
